Europe has a new and powerful groupage network. On 7 June 2005, 16 founders, from 5 different European countries officially founded the System Alliance Europe partnership. The network connects the logistics competencies of leading, international, medium-sized companies who operate in Europe. New partners are planned to be inducted during the course of this year.

Opportunities for Customers and Participating Companies 

System Alliance Europe offers its customers a European platform with high standards. Univocal organisational and IT guidelines, which will be observed by all participating companies, guarantee a first-rate standardization in handling shipments. This also ensures international Tracking & Tracing right from the start. In addition, customers can access a copy of the delivery sheet through the Internet and can depend upon punctually, reliability and adherence to delivery dates throughout Europe.

The network will create standards for transit and delivery times, and this will be a unique selling point on a European level. “This will create opportunities for customers and participating companies in the System Alliance Europe network”, adds Jean Schmitt, President Groupe Heppner, deputy chairman.

The 16 founders employ over 24,000 people and their joint turnover for 2004 was more than € 5 billion. In cross-border transactions, the participating companies had a total of 7.1 million groupage shipments, with a total weight of 6.8 million tons.
