Dynamic First Year of System Alliance Europe

System Alliance Europe looks back on a dynamic first year   The network is thriving

System Alliance Europe, a groupage network which was founded on 7 June 2005, is celebrating its first year with a significantly expanded circle of partners. Representatives of 37 internationally active, privately financed freight forwarders have taken part in this year’s partner meeting on 30 - 31 May 2006 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

A vision extends across Europe! What began with 16 founding partners from five countries has already evolved into a much larger network, covering a total of 18 European countries with their special know-how in groupage services.

“Our medium-term goal is to be present in all of Europe,” says Jean Schmitt, Chairman of the organization and owner of the partner Heppner. “However, all applicants must fulfill the network’s high quality standards so that we are in the position to offer comparable, top-level services to our customers in all countries.”

Customer Focus – Quality Leadership

System Alliance Europe attains these goals through the implementation and development of uniform organizational and IT guidelines. Each partner’s service performance is assessed and made transparent through a monthly quality evaluation. This enables every partner to compare their performance with the network’s quality targets and, when necessary, to immediately implement measures thereby ensuring customer satisfaction. The internet-based tracking and tracing system, CargoTrack, as well as the availability of proofs of delivery (PODs) via the internet are additional quality building blocks subject to constant central monitoring to support the continuous improvement of the network.

As a result of the enlargement of its network, System Alliance Europe is generating an increasing number of consignments and an equally impressive turnover.

The 37 partners employ 28,990 people and their joint total turnover for 2005 comes to Euro 5.81 billion.

In European cross-border transactions, the partners handled a total of 9.21 million shipments, with a total weight of 9.8 million tons.
